The Top Three Stylish & Simple RSVP Solutions for Your Destination Wedding

Let me guess - you’ve been dreaming about your destination wedding and you absolutely can’t wait to celebrate with your partner in a beautiful location. Friends, drinks, dancing, and vacation - what more could you want! But what about your guests? How do you go about sending RSVPs for your event and what information do you need to collect from everyone? How do you make this process as simple as possible, while staying organized?

In this blog I’m going to share my personal recommendations for RSVPs, and give you some tips I learned through the process of planning my own destination wedding!

Time is of the essence in all aspects of wedding planning, but especially when it comes to getting your guests to book and confirm their trip. The more details and responses you can collect, the better. As a bride, one of the most stressful things can be trying to confirm your wedding details and not knowing exactly who’s going to be attending. Don’t let this happen to you! 🙅🏻‍♀️ If you’re working alongside a particular venue or with a travel agency, there’s a good chance your guests can confirm their attendance through them online or via phone. Planning a destination wedding is a huge undertaking, so utilizing these kinds of resources can help you save tons of time (and potential headaches) in the long run.

Another thing to remember is that YOU have the power to choose how you want to handle your wedding RSVPs. Whether you want to remain traditional and have people mail their responses directly back to you, or you want to go the route of creating your own wedding website and having people RSVP there, you can’t go wrong with whatever option you choose as long as it works for you. I’ve even seen some brides add a note to their RSVP card asking their guests to simply email or text reply, so the options are endless!

In no particular order, here are my top three recommendations for RSVPs and destination weddings.

Luggage Tag RSVP

This style is perfect for destination weddings! It’s sleek, stylish, and has just enough space to include basic RSVP details for your guests to follow without being too bulky. 

One of my favourite things to do with luggage tag RSVP designs is to include a QR code with booking details and your wedding website. Guests can scan the tag with their phone and voila! 🌟 They’ll be automatically directed to your wedding page.

Boarding Pass RSVP

Similar to the luggage tag RSVP, the boarding pass RSVP can have a QR code attached to them, or you can simply include your wedding website address so people can reply online. A reason why I love the boarding pass design so much is because it offers brides all the space they want to add personal photos, fun facts about the destination, and booking instructions for guests. 

If you want to get really fancy and step things up a notch, you can even give your guests options for how they want to RSVP. The boarding pass layout can accommodate for a mail-back card and QR code, or any combination of avenues you want to share.

And lastly... no RSVP at all!

You can even opt for no physical RSVP card at all. Shocking, I know, but totally possible! RSVP cards are more a visual bonus than anything else. 

If people are planning on attending a destination wedding they’ve been invited to, they’ll obviously have to book their travel and resort stay, so that acts as an RSVP on it’s own! As the bride of a destination wedding, chances are that you are going to work with a travel agent or specific resort to assist with your event. This means you’re already in the loop on who has booked their accommodations, and having to mail back a physical RSVP is one less thing your guests have to think about.

Adding an RSVP along with your invite (a beautiful boarding pass set, perhaps 😉) is a great way to elevate the experience for your guests and it’s another aspect of your wedding that you can personalize, which is always one of the most fun parts in planning.
